Yes! I have re-launched my portfolio site at http://www.sameeko.com.
It's really been a great ride re-designing this site. I have learned tons more about CSS and JavaScript. I also feel much better about my (X)HTML knowledge. It's exciting to see what people will think of the new site!

Glitter Graphics Rock!
Ok,
So maybe it took me awhile to figure out how to do it, but thanks to the hugely helpful stuff I found across the web, I have learned how to create glitter graphics! And you know what? I love it. It's way too much fun. Later this week, I'll be gathering up all the links and resources I used to learn how to do this so it'll be easier for you to get started, if it's something you want to do.
What I'd really like to do next, besides practicing the technique and perfecting it, is to purchase the Adobe Fireworks software. You can create animated GIFs in Photoshop, and it's quite easy to do so. However, I would like to see what's different/easier to do (animation-wise) in Fireworks. So, that's my next hurdle. Should I or should I not purchase Fireworks?
My tag is "UR SWEET DESIGNS" so if you see it out there, peeps, you'll know it's me.

Celebrate! The Sameeko Site is *Live*!
Great News! I have finished the Sameeko website, and it is up and running, no snags so far. If you are going to build a website any time soon and you need to do anything from registering a domain name to buying a hosting plan, you should check out GoDaddy.com. That's who I went with and they are so helpful and easy to work with. They came highly recommended to me and have not disappointed me one bit!
Look around my site and tell me what you think! My next endeavor with the site will be to improve the *galaxies*. I want to do a galaxy (collection of cool, eclectic items) in each of the categories that are listed on the site. . . stuff like photos, stickers, my favorite writing utensils, fun facts about my cats, and so on. Each galaxy will hopefully be a place where I can let more creativity shine!

Added some portfolio pieces
I have added a few of my portfolio pieces to the site. Still learning as I go. But, it's exciting!
So, as a designer, or as a friend of a designer, what aspects of a web page or web site are most important to you? Is it the ease of navigation? Or is it the artfulness or beauty of the site that you most enjoy? Over the course of working on the Sameeko site, I have found that ease of navigation was very important to my users. It's also important to me as I navigate the site! I have also found a wonderfully designed portfolio site here: Cynthia Crawford's Gallery
The designer of that site used some sophisticated JavaScript to make the images appear larger on the right of the page. I would really like to learn more about this to improve my own portfolio site. For those of you who are just beginning to learn JavaScript, start where I am going to start! Here: The JavaScript Source: Tutorials
Happy Scripting! Oh, and send me links to other artists' portfolio sites that you are enjoying.

The Site is coming along. . .
Well, I am pleased to say that the Sameeko site at sameeko.com is coming along. I have done quite a bit of work on the design, and I am learning more and more as I go on. There is so much to learn about web design, not only about development/programming, but also about what features and styles make the best design.
The next hurdle is uploading/publishing the site on the godaddy server. I need to pay a little extra to godaddy so I do not have ads show on my pages. I designed the pages knowing that I would not have ads on them, so they are not equipped to handle ads. And, I hope that I can understand any problems that might arise when I publish the site. This will likely be the most exciting part of designing the site. . .
An excellent site from a New Mexico designer and author, Robin Williams
